For five consecutive months, not a single soul has given a single penny to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ re-election policy committee, but now the streak is finally over.

According to a recently filed financial report, the Friends of Ron DeSantis raised $ 60,000 in September. The majority of this money came on September 29 from Racetrac Petroleum, Inc., which donated $ 50,000. The remaining money came from former Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, who now resides at a Key Largo mansion, who donated $ 5,000, and Palm Beach investor Joseph Umbach, who also donated $ 5,000.

It was a hell of a race. From April to August, the PAC collected literally no donations, and the only money it accumulated was interest on a bank account.

But even with so little donor activity, DeSantis is far from broke. The committee still has about $ 7 million in cash, according to finance reports.
